Liquid nitrogen is applied to a skin tag, which is so cold that it freezes the growth upon contact. If it can’t oxygenate, this will cause it to die and fall off.
The substance is dispersed through a special canister with a nozzle, allowing a very targeted application. The treatment will typically take between 20 and 30 seconds. It’s important that none of the substance gets on the surrounding skin as it will cause discomfort.
You may experience some slight discomfort, but nothing too painful. This will subside after the treatment.
Following treatment, the skin tag should turn black in colour and fall off completely. This happens within 2 to 3 weeks. If you find that some of the skin in the surrounding area has reddened or feels particularly sensitive, then don’t worry because it will lessen over the next few days.
